| The beauty of natural
products is their uniqueness. If you buy or own
a solid wood product, whether it be a hard wood
like oak, or a soft wood like pine, a bit of care
and attention now and again will emphasise the
natural looks of the wood.
Many of our products are available in various
stains, the wood is then either waxed (giving
a more matt traditional finish) or lacquered (a
more polished sheen appearance).
Waxed furniture requires waxing using a beeswax
based product. Tables getting hardware need waxing
more often than an occasionally used wardrobe.
Some wax products have stains mixed in with them,
these can be used to enrich the shade of the furniture
or to touch up marks or knocks in the wood.
Lacquered furniture needs less attention as the
wood is sealed. A polish now and again is fine.
If marks do occur, apply a little wax the correct
shade to help mask the flaw.
Wood mellows with age (colours enrich) occasionally
move ornaments etc. so the surface mellows at
the same rate.
Put mats down for hot items or the wood may mark.
If the worst happens with solid wood you can sand
it back and re-finish, perfect.
Our leather products require feeding now and again,
leather soap products are available widely.
